Department Of Computer Science : Resource
The Library :
The University has a three-storied CENTRAL LIBRARY open to students. It is fully automated and a digital one, with the collection of useful, rare and many costly books. It remains updated with latest magazines and journals published far and wide. Recently the University library has purchased and installed SOUL software (Software Of University Libraries) and the retrospective conversion of library holdings is going on with the help of this software. The users can now access it through on-line. The library has institutional membership with British Council Library and IIT Kharagpur Library. The Central Library also provides the facility of on-line access to journals with the help of “On-line Public Access Catalogue” software which enables the students and teachers to look in sites like “Kluwer on-line” and “Springer verlag” originally purchased by U G C and made available to Vidyasagar University via their own VSAT facility. The library also provides reading rooms and photocopying facilities.
Moreover, the computer science department has its own departmental library. The library facilities of the department and central library are used to optimum extent by the students.
