Biographical Sketch
Professor Dipak K. Midya is a Social and Cultural Anthropologist and currently serving the Department of Anthropology, Vidyasagar University, West Bengal. He did his M.Sc. from the University of Calcutta, Ph.D. from Vidyasagar University, and Post-Doctoral Associateship from the IIAS, Shimla. His research interests include ethnicity, tribal problems, Maoist violence, women empowerment, reproductive health behaviour of women, and aging and health care of the elderly people. He has been in teaching for more than 27 years, and published about 55 research papers, 1 monograph and 4 edited books. He has completed 8 projects sponsored by the UGC and ICSSR, New Delhi.
