Biographical Sketch
Dr. Utpal Nandi received the M.Sc. degree in Computer Science from Vidyasagar University, West Bengal, India, in 2006, and the M.Tech. degree in Computer science and Engineering and the Ph.D. (Engg.) degree from the University of Kalyani, West Bengal, in 2009 and 2018, respectively. During the M.Sc. degree, he received the Silver Medal (2nd position) and the M.Tech. degree, he received the Gold Medal (1st position). He has 16 years of teaching and research experience. He has published more than 80 papers in international journals, book chapters, and conferences. He has published three patents also. He also delivered lectures in different conferences and seminars invited as a resource person. He involved in different organizing and technical program committees of conferences and seminars.
Academic Interest
His research interests include deep learning based sign language recognition, plant disease identification, hyperspectral image classifications and band selection, design of optimizers of deep learning models, data and image compression techniques, image processing, multimedia technology, computer vision, and artificial intelligence.
